A BIT MORE ON MEASURE 49 (aka the Measure 37 Fix):

–Measure 49, a referral measure – which will appear on the November 6, 2007 ballot is a balanced approach to solving the mess left by Measure 37.

–The M49 referral protects Oregon ’s farmland, areas with a limited water supply, forests and the rights of families to build homes on their own property.

–It fixes flaws in the original Measure 37 that allow large housing subdivisions, big-box stores and strip malls where they don’t belong.

–M49 referral restores balance by helping small property owners and preserving Oregon’s special quality of life for future generations.

    Governor’s in this fight
    (Eugene Register-Guard, Editorial, July 16)
…It is clear that Democratic governor has no intention of giving Measure 37 another free pass. On Thursday, he played the leading role in the kick-off for a campaign for a November ballot measure that would significantly restrict rural development allowed under Measure 37. Former Govs. John Kitzhaber and Barbara Roberts, both Democrats, and Vic Atiyeh, a Republican, will be joining him in the pivotal months to come.

This canvass is a great way to get in touch with your neighbors and talk to them about how M49 will impact our beautiful county forever.

See you THIS Saturday, Aug. 4th!
