A research-gifted aunt of mine did some work on carbon offsetting companies and says carbon counter (by climate trust) is one of the best out there. Wouldn’t it be nice if this became just a cost of doing business. Twenty bucks a month for us. Our guilty consciences are worth that (and the environment of course).

On Sunday, April 15th, Lane Bus chair James Mattiace, board member Mike Biglan and Lane Bus Director Lynn Moracco represented The Bus on 89.7FM, Sunday at Noon on KLCC. You thought that this type of talk radio would be on the AM dial…um, NO…this is hard hitting stuff that can only be carried over FM waves. Way to go James, Mike and Lynn!

We’ve all heard what Al Gore has to say about global warming. He has some interesting points
As with every issue, to fully understand it, you really need to hear both sides of the story. Hearing what comedian Sarah Silverman has to say on the subject might just open your eyes!

Equal RightsNo Comments
60 Years ago today, Jackie Robinson took the field for the Brooklyn Dodgers as the first African-American to play in the Major Leagues. MLB celebrates Jackie today with at least one player on each team wearing his number ‘42′, including his former team the Dodgers where ALL team members will wear his retired number.
Through intense racism and hatred, Jackie had a stellar career, contributing immeasurably to the Civil Rights movement. Most think that the movement started with Rosa Parks, Brown v. Board of Education and Martin Luther King Jr., but Jackie was breaking these barriers many years earlier.
A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.
-Jackie Robinson

In Memoriam: Rest in Peace old dumb blog location …http://lanebusproject.wordpress.com/…we barely knew ye.
We have a real domain name! Welcome to Lanebus.org!
All you need to know about politics in Lane County just got smashed in to 10 letters with a dot in it!
We hope to inform, entertain and inspire about a very worthy cause, The Bus Project. (OK, mostly stuff about cats that ride buses and YouTube videos, but still it will be good!)

This
story from Wired reports that a cat in England has memorized one of the bus routes and hops on the bus to travel to his favorite fish and chips place.

In reality, I think this cat is just trying to demonstrate his desire for a progressive government by “Getting on the Bus!” Also, just like our very own James, the cat is a big fan of British Parliamentary Procedure. HERE HERE!

I have pretty much spent my entire life trying to find ways to get out of bed on time. Nothing has ever worked.
Finally a device comes along that I shouldn’t dare try out. It’s the SnūzNLūz!
Set the clock with the embedded secure browser to donate money from your bank account to your most hated charity every time you hit snooze!
Are you a butcher? Set your SnūzNLūz to donate to PETA
Are you a republican? Set your SnūzNLūz to donate to the ACLU!
Are you a land developer? Set your SnūzNLūz to donate to the Wilderness Society!
Enjoy your freedom? (Blue state version) Set your SnūzNLūz to donate to the GOP. or
Enjoy your freedom? (Red state version) Set your SnūzNLūz to donate to MoveOn.Org

Now, if only we could register lazy sleepers to vote with this thing!
